The game follows a linear path through the first six chapters, from Garland at the Chaos Shrine to the Levistone inside the Cavern of Ice. Once you raise the Airship from the desert, the world opens up and you can tackle most content in any order. Every dungeon stays accessible after you clear it, so nothing is missable.
