Ice Cavern Chests
The Ice Cavern has 15 treasure chests across three floors. The big gear prizes are the Flame Sword on B2, Ice Armor on B3, and Ice Shield on B1. The B3 south room and B1 long room are also loaded with late-game Gil -- over 45,000 Gil total across six chests in those two areas.

Flame Sword (ATK 26, Warrior/Knight/Ninja/Red Mage/Red Wizard) deals Fire bonus damage -- it's the best weapon available in this era of the game for classes that can equip it. Ice Armor (DEF 34, Warrior/Knight) with dragons guarding it is worth the fight -- it's one of the highest-defense armors in the game. Ice Shield (DEF 12, Warrior/Knight) deals bonus Ice damage when used as an item. The Gil chests are some of the biggest hauls in the game. B3's south room has 41,584 Gil across 6 chests, and B1's long room adds another 19,500 Gil plus an Ice Shield. Clear both rooms. Watch for the crack in the floor in the B1 long room -- it drops you down a level if you step on it.
