Chaos Shrine (Past) Chests
The Chaos Shrine (Past) has 7 treasure chests across four floors. The only chest that matters for completion is the Masamune on B4 -- the strongest weapon in the game with ATK 56, equippable by all classes. Everything else is secondary to that.

Notes
Masamune (ATK 56) is the highest-attack weapon in FF1 and unique in that every class can equip it -- Warriors, Knights, Monks, Ninjas, Thieves, Red Mages, White Mages, Black Mages, all their upgraded forms. Put it on whoever hits hardest in your party. Getting to B4 requires navigating all the way through the Chaos Shrine (Past). The path is linear enough but the enemies here are among the toughest in the game. Come fully stocked with healing items and full MP. Elixir on 3F and B2 are both worth grabbing -- they fully restore HP and MP and are the best healing items in the game. Protect Ring and Protect Cloak improve elemental defense. Sasuke's Blade on B2 is a second copy of the Ninja-exclusive weapon from Flying Fortress -- only useful if you somehow missed the first.
